It was shown to me in a slightly frightening manner during my travels tonight that my proneness to panic or anxiety whilst taking certain substances or in general is due to the realisation that I have nothing to hold on to. This would appear to be incredibly obvious and simple to most reasonably intelligent people however most of us regardless of typical intelligence measurements surround ourselves with the illusion of a reality in which there is a self that is built up from past, present and future thoughts->actions; three seperate and distinctly solid things which clearly do not exist.
